Dear Parish Councillors
We have both made our best efforts to attend most of the Parish Council Meetings where we can.
Cleobury Mortimer
Cleobury Country
In an effort to find a solution to the financial support, discussions have taken place and a proposed grant for the library is in progress with thanks to great teamwork and thanks to Clare Todd and Simon Harris there might be light at the end of the tunnel. Further discussions are taking place, but things are looking a lot more hopeful now.
I have reported the dangerous pavement at the top of town, and I am happy that there has been a temporary repair to make it safe, whilst a new gully grid is being sourced.
I have reported the potholes in New Road, Ronhill and Furlongs Road.
Pioneer Centre
I had an application to support/challenge a refusal for a visa for a gentleman from Africa to work at the Pioneer Centre. I checked with Joseph Donavan, Manager at the Pioneer Centre and he said there was no such job or application made and that it was a scam.
Cleobury Manor House
The Senior Conservation Officer and Policy and Environment Service Manager met with the owner of the Grade II property. They were satisfied with the current repairs and roof repairs are sound. The owner was asked to improve the external decoration and he has agreed to consider this.
Fish and Chip Shop
It was reported that the Fish and Chip shop were using domestic bins to put commercial waste food in causing a health and safety issue. This has been reported and has been inspected on 20th August and recommendations have been made to the owner and will be followed up and monitored by the Public Protection Officer.
Traffic lights on from the Blount Arms.
These have been reported as they do not always work and I have also requested when the works are going to be scheduled as this has been going on for some eighteen months or more.
Cleobury Mortimer Post Office
Still no news from Stuart Anderson re when the Post Office will open.
Cleobury Mortimer Primary school
I will be attending the meeting on 4th September about the proposed fencing off of the playing field by the school.
Coreley
I would like to thank the councillors from Coreley for their effort in getting the bus stop repaired. It looks a very tidy job and in keeping with the environment.
Boraston
I am pleased to report that the safety mirror on the Cleobury Road has been installed. I have reported to Severn Trent about the low water pressure at Boraston which has been put on their jobs schedule.
Neen Sollars
Had a letter from a constituent re potholes, low water pressure and electricity problems. I respectfully asked them if they had reported this on Fixmystreet and Severn Trent etc, and I have heard nothing since.
Kinlet
I have had a report that Meaton Lane pothole has been fixed. Upon inspection, I can see that there are several more potholes along this lane so have reported them again. Reported the crash barrier near the Chorley turn off the Bridgnorth road again. I have reported the signage around Kinlet. Still no response yet.
Neen Savage
I have reported the potholes, level gauge marker, and drainage at the ford at Neen Savage on Fixmystreet. Also the potholes at Six Ashes to Barbook near Elcot.
Chorley
I have reported potholes at Harcourt Crossroads from where the old Miners Arms used to be up to Chorley Hall.
Farlow
Reported Farlow crossroads potholes and the old Gates Hangs Well potholes on Fixmystreet. Also potholes and drainage problems have been reported from Stonehouse to Catherton cattlegrid.
Wheathill
Good to hear that the speed limit at Wheathill will hopefully be going ahead, thanks to the Chair and parish councillors.
We will both be attending the Parish Council meeting on 2nd September.
Kindest regards
David and Pamela
